From the day that
David was born, he has been "church kid".
Having been raised in church, David made it
his business to be involved with every facet
of ministry. Growing up in New York City's
Greater Refuge Temple, David loved to learn
about the nuts and bolts of the Temple. Over
his 30 years at the Mother Church, here is a
snapshot of his experiences:

*Baptized in Jesus' Name (Acts 2:38),
September, 1979
*Filled with The Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4),
January 5, 1986
*Musician (Drummer) to the Choirs of Greater
Refuge Temple-NYC, 1985-1997
*Audio Engineer at the Greater Rufuge
Temple-NYC, 1987-2003
*Junior Deacon at the Greater Refuge
Temple-NYC, 1992-1994
*Called to Preach the Gospel of Jesus
Christ, 1991
*Rendered papers to Exhort within the Local
Assembly, COOLJC, 1998
Minister to the Greater Refuge Temple-NYC,
1994-2003
Jr. Pastor to the Greater Refuge Temple-NYC,
2001-2003
David developed a heart for youth and made a
decision to spend his time focusing on
ministering to the needs of young people. In
2001, at the request of Youth Pastor William
Wilkins and the approval of Pastor Bonner,
Minister Leath was called upon to fill the
vacant position of ABYPU President for the
Greater Refuge Temple-NYC Local/Diocese.
Coincidently, in 2002 Minister Leath was
selected by the International ABYPU
President to become the Director of the
Auxiliary of Apostolic Teens. In
conjunction with the International Youth
Community, the gifts and talents of the
Temple's Youth Department, Minister Leath
promoted the tenets of the Work of God and
raised the stake in the war for the sould of
young people.
Minister Leath felt
the move of the Lord to relocate his family
to Chesterfield, Virginia in June of 2003.
Having already prepared for the catechism
since 1994 (Church of Christ Bible Institue),
and worked in youth and church ministry,
Minister Leath became Elder Leath, in 2004's
St. Louis Convention Perhaps the greatest
event in a youth minister's life occurre in
2005, as Elder Leath was appointed to be the
International ABYPU President by the
Presiding Apostle J.I. Clarck, Jr.,
enlarging his territory to do what he has
always loved to do, minister to youth.
Presently, Elder Leath lives and tours the
coutry with King David's creed as told in
Psalm 27:4-"One thing have I desired of
the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may
dwell in the house of the Lord all the days
of my life, to behold the beauty of the
Lord, and to enquire in His Temple." "I
simply teach young people that God never
intended for us to stress and be caught up
with the things of life. He
really expects for us to desire Him and His
Presence more than anything and everybody
else". |
